Obituary of Gillian Patricia Rodrigues

Gillian Patricia Rodrigues, born on May 6, 1958, in Georgetown Guyana, passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 26, 2021. She was the second child of Leila (Rodrigues) Henry and Sigismund Augustus Martindale. She emigrated to the United States in 1979.

She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Systems from Fordham University in 1988 and worked in information technology for over 20 years. She was a devout catholic and a voracious reader with an insatiable thirst for knowledge. She enjoyed anything intellectually engaging and had a love for music. She dreamt of being a writer and was working to launch a freelance career. She will be fondly remembered for her funny personality and faces, especially by her grandchildren.

Gillian is survived by her daughters, Daniela Field and Deidre (Field) Keller; her granddaughters Danisha and Kiarra; her grandsons, MJ, Damon, Orion and Eon; her great-granddaughter, Naomi; her mother, Leila; her siblings, Sandra and Sean; her nieces, Davana, Dascia and Dannia; and her nephew David. A funeral mass will be held at St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Catholic Church in Spring Hill, FL followed by a memorial at Pinecrest Funeral Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, we would welcome donations to People Helping People in Hernando County, Inc. in Spring Hill, FL (https://phphernando.org/).
