It was January 06, 1930, when the first Pan-Am amphibious aircraft landed on the Demerara River linking Miami, USA, with Georgetown, Guyana by air.

Also on that day, Donald Bradman (who later became Sir Donald Bradman) in the Sheffield Shield Series scored 452 not out for NSW (New South Wales) against Queensland at Sydney. His score took 415 minutes with 49 fours

50 years later, on January 06, 1980, Pan-Am celebrated 50 years of service to Guyana.
