The International Court of Justice (ICJ) delivers its Judgment in the case Guyana v. Venezuela

THE HAGUE – The International Court of Justice (ICJ), the principal judicial organ of the United Nations (UN), delivers its Judgment on the preliminary objection raised by Venezuela in the case concerning the Arbitral Award of 3 October 1899 (Guyana v. Venezuela) on 6 April 2023.

A press release dated April 3, 2023, from the Guyana Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation reads:

“The Judgment of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on the preliminary objection raised by the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in the case concerning the Arbitral Award of 3 October 1899 (Guyana V. Venezuela), will be read in open court on Thursday 6 Abril 2023, at 3 p.m., at the Peace Palace.”
