Clive Junior Atwell is a Pro Boxer, businessman and group educator whose motto stems from Romans 8:28, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who[a]have been called according to his purpose.” He was born to Samantha Atwell in Friendship, East Coast Demerara, Guyana on November 11th 1988. At the age of two he moved to Agricola and was raised by his grandmother, Margaret Douglas. He attended St. Ann’s Primary, Houston Community High, Guyana Industrial Training Center (where he graduated Best Student), Government Technical Institute of Guyana and Long Distance Education University of Guyana.

It was during his final years at the Houston Community High School that Clive developed a passion for boxing under the late Donald Alison of Agricola, Georgetown Guyana. When he launched out into this venture February 2002 he represented Guyana successfully on countless occasions in both North and South America. In 2005 he was the National Intermediate Champion/ Best boxer; in 2006 Featherweight Champion of the Caribbean; 2007 he won the Pan American qualifier silver medal and the Bronze Medal at the Pan American Games; 2008 he was Awarded the Most Successful Boxer of the year. In 2007 Clive Atwell obtained a diploma in Amateur boxing from the Pan American Athletic Organization.

After returning from the World Championship Boxing in Italy, Sept 2009 he obtained his professional boxing license from the Guyana boxing board of control, taking his boxing career to another level. Clive was scheduled to have his Professional debut fight December 2009 against Carlton Skeet weighing in at 125lbs at the Cliffanderson Sports Hall, but due to the flooding at that time the boxing card was postponed until the end of Jan 2010. When Clive made his professional debut in January 2010 he did so with 2nd Round KO against Mr. Skeet making his mark. A new journey had begun.

After receiving opportunities Clive migrated to Dominica, the nature Aisle of the Caribbean, but he still continued to make his name known as he was actively involved in church ministry and theater plays. September 2010 he was up against the undefeated Mark Austin where at the end of four fiery rounds the Judges ruled it a draw. This made Clive more motivated and dedicated to the game. October 2010 he fought Cecil Smith and November 2010 Earl Trotman where he won by unanimous decision. Due to low level of boxing activities in Dominica Clive’s boxing career came to a halt for almost one year but he never gave up on the sport. After weeks and months of discussion and negotiation with boxing promoters back in Guyana he was finally set to enter the ring once again.

October 2011 he fought Orlando Rogers, and won by a unanimous decision. In June 2012 he was up against Rudolph Fraser, July 2012 Revlon Lake, Oct 2012 Orlando Rogers, Oct 2012 Prince Lee Isidore and Dec 2012 Revlon Lake, claiming all fights by Technical Knockout.

It was within 2011 Clive introduced his ring name, “Wonder Kid”. Today Clive ‘Wonder Kid’ Atwell is the National Featherweight Champion of Guyana, World Boxing Council (WBC) COBOFE Junior Welterweight Champion and National Lightweight Champion of Guyana. He is the only three (3) division Title holder in the Caribbean and is rated in the top 40 Junior Welterweight fighter under the WBC and the number one (1) boxer in Guyana.

Still residing in Dominica, Clive is a student of theology whiles pursuing his boxing career.
