Cinemas around the world. Often, I try and see a movie when I'm on my travels. Sadly, I was too late for this superb cinema in New Amsterdam (Guyana).
Elsewhere, I have been more successful, although the experience has often been surprising. In Bolivia, the audience pelted the screen with sweets; in Liverpool (England), they cracked loud jokes throughout 'Jaws', and in Chile, they wept through 'Chariots of Fire' (or 'Carros de Fuego').
Meanwhile, in Pakistan, 'Gorky Park' had been so enthusiastically censored (removing all bloodshed, swearing and sexual references) that it was only about 30 minutes long and made no sense at all.
