Guyanese student tops the Caribbean in Sciences
Valencia Bailey a 17 years old Queens College student was the most outstanding
performer in Sciences in the 2006 Caribbean Secondary Education
Certificate (CSEE) and the second best performer overall in
Guyana. Ms Bailey achieved five grade one passes in the science
subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Human and Social
Biology and Information Technology. She also received
grade one passes in Mathematics,
English A, French, Food and
Nutrition, and grade two in English B.
Ms. Bailey attributed
her success to her parents, grandparents and teachers who
provided her with the guidance necessary to succeed. She
is looking forward to being able to take advantage of her
current success to pursue either computer science or medicine.
